Being an artist (or a writer)

I think artist are artists 24/7 365.

You cannot be an artist from 6 am to 1 pm and afterwards not be an artist. At least it’s unthinkable to me.

An artist is an artist even if from 1 pm to 10 pm he or she delivers mail or washes cars in order to make ends meet.

The same can be said, in my opinion, about writers — a writer who delivers mail or washes cars from 1 pm to 10 pm in order to make ends meet sooner or later will write about it (he or she will use it as his or her material for the next piece or book).
