Artists’ best and worst periods?

I think art isn’t about being right all the time or producing only masterpieces (having 100% success rate in the conventional sense, never failing). Besides who should be the ultimate judge?

It’s about attempting, trying new things, sometimes failing to please the audience (or ourselves), and asking lots of questions (rather than providing answers).

I think it’s weird that we call certain people geniuses or great masters or great artists and at the same time assume that we are competent to say which of their works are and which aren’t masterpieces…
