Woke up 3:40 am.
This week there’s been three days when I didn’t publish a post.
At least I wrote answers to questions on Quora and read on those days.
On Sunday I and a bunch of other people who aren’t professional actors appeared on movie set. Most of us were background actors (a.k.a. movie extras) — random people on the streets whose main job is to fill up the frame.
Apart from us there was also a young guy who was a leading actor, a stuntman and two doubles. The stuntman had been redoing a stunt in which he…
Woke up 5:30 am
To bed at 11:40 pm
Wanted to wake up at 4:00 (and thought / believed I actually would) and did at 5:30. Went to bed at 10:10 pm but couldn’t fall asleep. I was thinking. About the new business idea, which hit me in the evening. Turns out I am quite good at coming up with new business ideas. If they’re good or not I can’t say right from the get.
Woke up 4:30 am.
Just returned from my stay on the Polish seashore, in a place called Słajszewo (near Choczewo, near Łeba). Went there with my family (wife, son and dog). We spent there 13 days. Wrote and read every day. Would wake up at 4–5 am to be able to work. In his book The Road to Wigan Pier George Orwell wrote “To write books you need not only comfort and solitude — and solitude is never easy to attain in a working-class home — you also need peace of mind.”
I would say that to write anything you…
Woke up 2:55 am.
The day before yesterday I spoke to my mother. She has this “peculiar” (read irritating) way of having a discussion with someone she disagrees with. Or it’s only with me.
She is polite enough to hear me out but only to the point when she can, with 100% certainty, conclude that I’m terribly wrong and I will regret my decisions.
I would never do this to her. In theory I could, but A/ it’s not the way things should be in our culture and it would be obviously inappropriate and she would probably (I’m 99,99% sure this…
Woke up 6:30 am. Sometimes I need those two extra hours of sleep I guess. Luckily sometimes doesn’t happen often.
Yesterday I did something which I thought was not possible. I gave myself a haircut. Well, maybe I didn’t exactly think it was impossible, I thought it was impossible to do it properly. How do you cut your hair at the back of your head?
Back when I still had my two main sources of income and when they were reliable I used to visit a hairdresser once a month. One haircut cost me the equivalent of USD 12. In a…
Woke up 5:00 am
To bed at 10:30 pm
Progress, but there is still a lot of room for improvement (the time I wake up, and I could also go to bed half an hour earlier).
Had a really weird dream. I don’t like having dreams, because when I have them usually they’re fucked up. But what can I do? Actually, is there something I can do? Maybe if I will try (test) different things I will be able to figure out when exactly I have dreams at night. I guess tiredness is definitely one factor. But is it the…

Totally surprised that SIA is two years older than I am (she was born in 1975), and also that she’s from Australia. I thought she was from UK or the States (I don’t know why) and that she is at least 10 years younger (I guess because of her voice and the kind of music she makes). Also that she wrote lyrics for Rihanna’s song “Diamonds” (wonder how it happened, what was the story of their collaboration).
I learned those facts from Wikipedia. Her official website says nothing about her which is not that common. The…
Woke up 5:30 am
To bed at 10:00 pm
The weather was a little bit better yesterday. I drunk more water and didn’t eat after 7:30 pm for the second day in a row. And I started using a nose spray (my wife recommended it to me) and it helped enormously. So this morning is better.
Again searched for job offers yesterday. There are, of course (in a big city Warsaw is), a lot of them. Saved some of the searches and sent one new application. Today I will make some phone calls and reply to some of the offers.
Woke up 4:40 am.
My God, the bells! It is 6:30 am on April 1st and the bells in a nearby catholic church have been ringing for half an hour now. Easter Sunday in the Christian world but it looks like it is Easter Sunday in my world too, although I’m not Christian. No wonder, with around 2.4 billion adherents split into three main branches of Catholic, Protestant and Eastern Orthodox, Christianity is the world’s largest religion.
Funny thing, depending on how one wants to interpret it I am and I am not a Christian (Catholic) at the same time…
Woke up 4:40 am.
Still struggling financially. January and February sold ca. 40 used items on a site similar to Craigslist, which was not bad. I have 90 more items there but it stalled and last week didn’t sell a thing.
Several times I thought about taking items people give away for free there and then trying to sell them through that same or a different site. Haven’t done that yet as I personally still have many unused things which sit in our apartment. Will see.
Meanwhile I created an account on a site called SAATCHI ART (which looks great…
